why it is important to put yourself out there.

hey my love,

  Putting yourself out there can be scary but trust me its worth it.

Starting a business, Youtube channel, podcast, blog, newsletter or whatever you are trying to start can be scary but do you know what is scarier? Telling people about it. What makes it scarier is the fact that you are putting yourself out there to be laughed at, to be thought as cringe and to be criticized or rejected and honestly that is not the easiest thing to do.

When I started this newsletter, I was so freaking scared to tell my family and friends about it. Each week I told myself that I would put myself out there and tell people about it, I would come up with one excuse or the other that would prevent me from actually putting myself out there. Each time I failed to put myself out there, I let the fear of what people will think or say cripple me and prevent my growth. Because the truth is that every time you put yourself out there you give yourself the chance to grow. Putting yourself in uncomfortable situations is what aids your growth.

After running out of excuses of why it wasn’t necessary for me to put myself out there, I realized that I couldn’t keep running away from the inevitable and I just had to do it. And after doing it, guess what? I realized it wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be. This is something a lot of people struggle with, that’s why in this week’s newsletter I would be motivating so many of you that have found yourself in my position and telling you why it is necessary for you to put yourself out there. So relax sit back and learn.

Putting yourself out there can be scary, but one of the advantages to doing that, is opening yourself up to new opportunities. When you put yourself out there, you show people what you are capable of and that in itself can open you up to new opportunities. So don’t be scared to put yourself out there, because you never know the opportunities that could come your way from just putting yourself out there.

Another reason why you should put yourself out there is because, it enables you to grow. when you put yourself out there you open yourself up to the criticisms of others and that itself could be a good thing. Sometimes hearing constructive criticisms from people could help us improve our work and this can only be possible when we put ourselves out there. When I started this newsletter it wasn’t like this, it was different but over time it got better from the constructive criticism I heard from my family and friends. That would not have been possible if I didn’t put myself out there.

Also putting yourself out there improves your confidence. When you put yourself out there, overtime you become confident in your ability and you will overcome the fear of rejection and criticism because you become desensitized to it. This will even make you more confident in putting yourself out there more, because you will have the “what’s the worst that can happen, I have done this a million times mentality”.

Putting yourself out there can also make you more accountable to yourself. So for instance if you started a Youtube channel and you didn’t tell anyone about it, if you are not motivated you can just decide that you don’t feel like posting any video because after all you are not disappointing anyone. But when you tell people about your Youtube channel and you know they are expecting you to drop a video at a particular time, you are less likely to just say you are not going to post because you don’t feel like because you know that if you don’t post you are not only disappointing them you are also going to answer questions about why you didn’t post. This is very good because it helps you to be more consistent.

Honestly, there is nothing bad that comes out from you putting yourself out there, So don’t let the thought of what people will think or say cripple you from putting yourself out there. And even if people laugh at you or think you are cringe for starting that thing, remember that you are way better than them because you are not just sitting down laughing at other people as they are busy chasing their dreams. People who started great businesses or big Youtubers, podcasters or bloggers would never laugh at a person who is just starting, it is only the losers that will, always have that at the back of your mind. I hope this was a great source of motivation for you to put yourself out there .

To the next part of the newsletter;

here is the quote for the week;

The distance between dreams and reality is called action. You will never know what you are capable of if you don’t put yourself out there.

here is the podcast for the week;

check out this podcast, it was really insightful.

My Top three lessons for the week

  1. Don’t be scared to put yourself out there, most times its not as scary as you think it is.

  2. It’s really important you surround yourself with like minded people. People that have your drive and motivate you to go outside your comfort zone.

  3. Try to control how external things affect your mood. choose to be positive and choose to be happy, remember its only you that can control how you feel.

To end this newsletter I would say, If you want to achieve your goals, you have to be willing to take risks. You can’t play it safe all the time, eventually you have to put yourself out there and see what happens. What’s the worst that could happen, after all? You might fail, but so what? You’ll learn from your mistakes and you’ll be better off for it in the long run.

If you read it to this point it means a lot to me. If you enjoyed reading it don’t forget to share it with your family and friends that would mean a great deal to me. Also wishing you a productive week ahead.

bye boo see you next week,

Better me Girl.
