NEW YEAR, VISION BOARDS AND NEW ME

my secret to sticking to your new year resolutions........................

Happy New Year my loves,

NEW YEAR, VISION BOARDS AND NEW ME

It’s that time of the year where we make resolutions and hope to God that we stick to it, that’s if you are like me that loves to make New Year Resolutions. I have always wondered why every new year I feel so inspired to be a better version of myself, I get comfy and write new year resolutions that I might end up dumping after 1 week of practicing. what I have come to realize is that, with the New Year comes this feeling of new beginning and so with that we feel inspired to set goals because it gives us a sense of purpose and an opportunity to reinvent ourselves.

After a series of failed attempts at sticking to my New Year Resolution, I had to have a honest conversation with myself and what I realized was that many times I sat down to write this New Year Resolutions I was never truthful with myself and I didn’t believe that I will stick to and that’s why I never stuck with it.

If we are to be completely honest with ourselves we write this New year resolutions without the faith and conviction that we are going to stick with and that’s why one week after writing it we end up not sticking to it. After a series of research and testing I have gotten a few tips on how to stick to your goals and I will be sharing it with you. so sit back enjoy, and learn.

The first thing you have to do when you are setting this New Year resolutions or goals is to have absolute faith in it. You cannot successfully stick to this goals if you cannot see yourself sticking to it till the end of the year. So you have to really believe that you are going to stick with this goals and be committed to getting it done.

The next tip is to be realistic with your goal setting. So many times we get super excited and motivated that we become overambitious in our goal setting, that we end up setting goals that we can’t achieve. If you have fallen victim to this you are not the only one, I have been there and that’s why it’s imperative that we set realistic goals. check out goals you set in the previous year that you couldn’t achieve and figure out why you couldn’t stick with it, put that into consideration when you are making new goals. Set goals that you have the ability of achieving.

write it down and put it somewhere you can see everyday. spending time to write it down and putting it somewhere you can see it everyday will motivate you more to stay committed to the goal.

Identify your goals, are they short term goals, medium term goals, or long term goals. it is very important that you identify your goals. they must be specific and not vague. its not just saying you want to achieve something, you must be sure of what you want to achieve and how you intend to achieve the goal and when you want to start the process of achieving it.

Also its important that you enjoying the process of achieving that goal. Most times we are so focused on the end result that we do not appreciate the little progress we make. so enjoy the process and appreciate those little progress you make.

Another important tip is to remain consistent. Without consistency you can’t see progress. So try as much as possible to remain consistent. Even if you miss some days , weeks or month, that’s not the end of the world pick yourself up and keep going be consistent.

Lastly, have a support system, people who are intentional about your progress and who would hold you accountable. When you have people you are accountable to, you are more likely to stick to the goal. Having a support system is also great for when you feel discouraged and unmotivated to continue.

As the year has been coming to a close, I have had time to reflect and I will be sharing with you 3 lessons that 2023 taught me

The first lesson that 2023 taught is that life is too short not to live for yourself. Do what makes you happy, stop caring about what others think and do you regardless of what they think’

The second lesson, is that you shouldn’t let fear stop you from going after what you want because if you do not go after what you want, all you are going to be left with is the feeling of regret and what if

lastly don’t wait till you have it all figured out before starting. If you wait till you have it all figured out before you start, you are never going to start because you can never be fully be prepared, so just take that leap of faith and start and believe everything will work itself out.

As we have come to the end of this newsletter, I want to say a big thank you for sticking to the end it means a lot to me. Happy New Year once again and I hope you learnt a thing or two from this Newsletter.

Bye boo, see you next Sunday
