How to overcome the feeling of not doing enough.

You are doing enough, stop stressing!!!

Have you ever compared your life to another person's own and felt like you weren't doing enough even though you were doing your best? If you have felt this way, this is just a reminder that you are doing enough so stop stressing and also you are not the only one that has felt this way. Most people have felt like this at one point in their life, even I felt this way this past week and I guess that was what motivated me to speak about it in this week's newsletter.

Just to be clear this is not me encouraging you not to put in more effort or do more for yourself if you could. All I am saying is that if you know you are putting in the effort and doing your absolute best, then don't feel like you are not doing enough because you saw someone doing more than you. In actual fact you are doing enough and that's okay. Also always bear in mind that everybody’s “enough” is different because we are all different human beings with different strength levels. So don't kill yourself trying to do more because you want to feel like you are doing enough based on other people's standard. Do what works for you.

The funny thing is that those people that we are comparing our lives to and thinking they are doing enough might also be feeling like they are not doing enough as well. So don't waste your time feeling sorry for yourself because you don't feel like you are doing “enough”. Do your best and don't stress. Everybody has different things that they are dealing with, some people have the opportunity to do more and put in more time and effort while some other people do not have that luxury. It doesn't mean that those that do not have the luxury are not doing their best, they are, they are not just opportuned to do more like those people who have the luxury to do so. In essence, don't feel sorry for yourself, do your best and make the best of your situation and everything will be fine

I would be giving a few tips that would help you to stop feeling like you are not doing enough, so sit back, relax and pay attention.

One of the things that makes us feel like we are not doing “enough” is the unnecessary pressure and unrealistic expectations that we put on ourselves. Life is not a race and you are not competing with anyone, so stop putting too much pressure on yourself to have everything figured out at a particular age. Live in the present and do your best. Stop stressing yourself trying to control the future, you can't. Life is unpredictable and filled with so many unexpected turns, so take each day as it comes and do your best.

Another reason why we might feel like we are not doing enough is because we keep comparing ourselves with others. Stop the comparison, everyone is different. There is no need for you to compare yourself to others. Your lives are different so there is no point. Just do your best each day and quit comparing.

Also, one thing you could do is focusing more on how far you have come rather than seeing how far you haven't gone. Celebrate your little wins. Don't dwell on the negativity, focus your energy on the positive and celebrate how far you have come.

Lastly, whenever you are feeling this way remember that you are not the only one that has felt like this, millions of people have also felt this way so you are not alone. Don't try to overwhelm yourself, just do your best and remember that it is just a temporary feeling that will fade away.
